Querétaro, Mexico - In an effort to foster interest in science and technology, a science outreach event aimed at high school seniors left attendees amazed with the workings of a mechatronic project designed to evaluate knee movement.
The event, organized by the Tecnologico de Monterrey, served as a meeting between high school, mechatronic engineering and biomedical students. The main objective was to provide the high school students with an interactive experience within STEM areas.
The main attraction of the event was the presentation of a mechatronic device capable of evaluating knee movement. During the presentation, students had the opportunity to see the device up close and watch as it collected real-time data on knee movement. The team of scientists also explained the project development process, from the conception of the idea to the tests and improvements made.
At the end of the event, the high school students expressed their excitement for the opportunity to participate in this unique experience. Many of them shared their plans to continue their studies in careers related to STEM, and felt inspired by what they had witnessed during the event.
